The ‘ThinShell’ Solution Provides Overall Cost Saving

Con-Tech has completed supplying a range of Architectural Stone dressings to an extensive, 5-story Residential Development in Margate, Kent: ‘Eastern Esplanade’. The building, which contains 130 Flats and has a total floor area of over 10, 500 m2, utilised Con-Tech Window Surrounds, Cornices, Copings, Entrance Porticos and Spheres.

Where possible, the ‘ThinShell’ principle was employed in unit design. The resulting significant reduction in unit weight conferred greater ease in fixing and consequently an overall cost-saving to the Customer.

The Customer, ‘Jenner Contractors Ltd.’, offered the following comment:

“Con-Tech supplied Reconstituted Stone to the value of circa £120,000 for Jenner Contractors Ltd as part of a five storey block of flats in Cliftonville. Many bespoke products were supplied including Stone Cornice Bands, Window Surrounds, Copings, Porches and Spheres. All products were supplied to a high standard and in accordance with the deliveries schedules. We would have no hesitation in using Con-Tech on similar schemes in the future.”
